Landscape Impressions Workshop at Empty Spools Seminars

Retired to the CountryNancy Ryan and I are going to be teaching our fabric impressions technique for Empty Spools Seminars from Friday, February 27 – Wednesday, March 4, 2015. The workshop will take place at the Asilomar Conference Center in Pacific Grove, California. We couldn’t be more honored and delighted. The date for this seminar is coming up soon, so I wanted to make sure that you know about it. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn this fun technique for making impressionistic landscape art quilts in a beautiful setting. To sign up for this workshop, go to

Empty Spools Seminars is an outstanding organization providing excellent workshops at a beautiful ocean-side State Park. If you have never had the privilege of participating in one of these events, this would be a great opportunity for you to come and enjoy the amazing location and learn a new technique. You get instruction from 3-6 hours each day depending on the day, plus you can work later if you want. There are teacher presentations at the evening meetings with a participant show/share/tell to inspire everyone. One night each session, we have a walk-around to see what everyone is doing in the classes. It is so exciting and inspiring to see the quality of the work being done. To top it all off, you get 3 excellent, healthy meals a day, and you don’t have to make your bed!

Here is one of my quilts made in this technique called “Retired to the Country.” I hope you will be able to come and join us in this delightful setting.
